Did you know there is another great event in July? The Yamakasa festival is fast approaching. I think you can already feel the festivity with decorative stalls and guys wearing traditional festival underwear on the streets. (The decorative stalls were brought out earlier than usual this year, to welcome members of the Lions Club.)

You can see our permanent and feature exhibition for free after 17:30 from July 22nd to August 27th! ( We close at 17:30 as usual on Sundays or National holidays) We’re referring to the extended opening hours as “Twilight Museum.”
You can see the golden seal, a national treasure, and a yamakasa stall which has been specially made for our exhibition. What makes it even more special is that it features a hero of Fukuoka, Kuroda Kanbei. You can’t miss Nihongo, a spear, too. The spear is very famous for being mentioned in a song called Kuroda Bushi..
