The Great Amazon exhibition will start this Saturday, June 25th!
There is a huge advertisement campaign going on in every kind of media, so you may already know about it.J. The Fukuoka City Museum is turning more into a huge jungle every day. One day, these crocodiles suddenly appeared on the staircase.
This big monkey also appeared on the very same day.
In the jungle the mighty jungle♪ I found our curator, Ms. Fukuzono♪ She looked great in the adventurer outfit!
How jungle-y can the museum get? I’m looking forward to the result!
It is said that the Amazon is procuring 1/3 of the oxygen on Earth. In the area, there are various kind of species living. For this reason, I think the Amazon is the best place to feel the living vibration of the earth. We should pay a visit there at least a once, for we are all residents of Earth.
Getting there is not that easy though. How long do you think would take to travel to the Amazon from Japan? Looking at a globe, the Amazon area is located right on the opposite side of the earth from Japan and extremely far away.
A friend of mine resides in Argentina on the South American continent, which is close to the Amazon area. Once he came to see me in Fukuoka, and he told me it took him 2 days to reach Japan. As it turns out, he has never been to the Amazon even though he lives close to the area. It looks like the Amazon is a place of mystery even to the neighbors.
Now is your chance to experience the feeling of entering the Jungle while you are staying in Fukuoka! What a rare opportunity!
What’s more, each section of the exhibition was prepared under the supervision of experts from the National Science Museum. You will learn more about the jungle than if you went to the real thing.
Why don’t you take your family to explore the great Amazon? You can get there in 20 minutes by bus from the Hakata or Tenjin bus terminals, or 15 minutes’ walk from the Nishijin Subway station!
